When I was younger, I chased every challenge—trying to outrun, out-jump, out-do my older brother. I was independent to a fault, always chasing the next shiny goal. It wasn’t until I moved a thousand miles from home, chasing a dream that stretched me in every way, that I truly understood the gift of close friends.
Now, I see them everywhere—in laughter shared over coffee, in the steady phone call that comes when you need it most, in the cardinals that lift together on the wind.
