Kate Moynihan: Author
I never planned to become a writer — just like I never planned to become an artist.
But sometimes life nudges us somewhere new, and if we’re lucky, we listen.
My first book, A Lone Birch: My Artistic Journey, is my true story of shifting careers, returning to school, opening an art gallery, and learning what it means to start over at midlife. It’s a story of courage, self-doubt, unexpected detours, and finding meaning through creativity.
Along the way, I also wrote a home décor guide (How to Make Your Walls Say Home), because I believe the art we choose isn’t just decoration — it’s an expression of who we are and the life we’re building.

Today, I’m writing a new book for your “what now?” season — the quiet bravery required to keep growing.
It’s called The 10% Shift
Small, Resets, Gentle Forward Motion, and the Magic of Rediscovery
It will be published in late March 2026.

And yes, there are also a few kid-friendly cozy mysteries in the mix — inspired by raising two adventurous boys who collected mosquito bites and muddy shoes like trophies.
