While painting this original birch tree and water scene I stepped back from the canvas and magic happened. 
I saw the promise of freedom. 
Instantly I wanted to plunge right in the water, cold and sharp against my sun-soaked skin, stealing my breath, yet invigorating. 
Then I sat on the shore and let the sun kissed my cheek. A glow radiated through me.
Go ahead, lose yourself in the moment, step back, and appreciate what comes next.
