'Swing High' - 30h x 24w - original
Swing High
Years ago, I painted a girl on a swing during an art competition. She eventually found a home with a collector, but the feeling behind that painting never quite left me.
Recently, I found myself thinking about her again. Not because I wanted to recreate the original, but because I needed the reminder.
A swing asks us to do something interesting. Before we can move forward, we have to lean back and trust the momentum. We don't wait until we feel completely ready. We simply push off.
As I painted Swing High, I thought about how often life asks the same thing of us. Try the new thing. Say yes before confidence arrives. Laugh at the occasional gutter ball. Keep moving.
For me, this painting is about possibility, freedom, and the joy of letting go—even if only for a moment.
My hope is that every time you see it, it reminds you to swing a little higher than you thought you could.
30h x 24w x1.5 " Original oil painting on gallery-wrapped canvas. Wired and ready to hang.
